Kid Cudi and Third Eye Blind Live: Binghamton University

Semi-charmed kind of rapper The Southern Tier will FINALLY be graced again by a major act (or two) as the unusual paid of Kid Cudi and Third Eye Blind will be at the Events Center on October 11th the BU Pipe Dream reports.

"We were working all summer to find one solid act that students would really enjoy and we ended up getting two," said Adam Cohn, Student Association Vice President to the Pipe Dream.

Kid Cudi, the hip hop artist who is on many publication's "next up" lists brings his act to Binghamton a month after releasing his debut album. Cudi, who was signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music will bring an already featured list of songs that have gained YouTube fame and have helped to put him where he's at now. Third Eye Blind on the other hand is a very accomplished band that has been around more then a few years. They have sat upon the top of the rock charts for weeks on end with some songs and have played to many sold out shows across the country throughout their career. Stephan Jenkins, Brad Hargreaves, and Tony Fredianelli make up Third Eye Blind with original bassist Arion Salazar's status with the band up in the air. The bassist wasn't kicked out or even suspended from the band. In fact, it's quite the opposite. The band has been telling the media there is an open door policy for Salazar to return to the band. "We love Arion and he’s just had a lot of personal struggles. So the band is not a working place for him right now, but he did play bass and actually co-wrote a song called “Red Star” with me and I love that song. I think he’s very talented, but we’ll be having other people play bass with us. But it’s not because we don’t love Arion, because we really do." said Jenkins.

Bassist problems aside, these two will rock Binghamton University's Anderson Center October 11th at 7pm. Tickets go on sale September 15th at the Student Association's website located at http://sa.binghamton.edu and in person at the SA Box Office located just outside the Susquehanna Room. Tickets are $20 for students, $29 to the public. So lets thank the Student Association for doing something nobody else in Binghamton seems to be doing these days -- bringing national recognized acts to the area.
