Aerosmith's New One

Highlander: The Musical

Aerosmith has been writing, and writing, and writing and just now has finally got together to get it all recorded. The Boston rockers will be heading into the studio according to Blabbermouth in just a few days to lay some more tracks down for an album they hope to be completed by June 1st when the band hits the road touring. The album will be the legendary band's 15th studio album and first new collection of hits since 2001's Just Push Play.

The band will be working with Brendan O'Brien who in the music business is sort of a big deal. After all, he's the one behind some of the big names on the rock scene including Rage Against the Machine, Bruce Springsteen, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam and AC/DC to name a few. He's also worked on the last Velvet Revolver release. The band is said to be "going back to its roots" which basically means they'll be playing live in the studio as a band and not tracking each instrument at different times.

Joe Perry has told various sources that each member of the band has been in it's own world lately as is the case normally when Aerosmith isn't touring or recording. Nothing to be alarmed about it just takes them a little longer to get back into the groove of things since each of them don't exactly barbecue with one another on the weekends. Again, no problems between any of them they just all have busy lives outside of the band. Either way we think Aerosmith will most likely be all over the radio this summer as the last time they released a studio album you couldn't get rid of them on the rock charts. Stay tuned.
